April 16, 2018
On Friday, April 13, 2018, more than 35 residency programs and hospitals from across the southeast came to Dothan to network with ACOM’s classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021. Several ACOM alumni from the class of 2017 returned to exhibit with their residency programs.
Formerly known as Hospital Day, the Residency and Hospital Expo is a prominent event giving students the opportunity to network with residency programs where they may train in the future. Students are able to investigate post-graduate options for internships, residencies, and audition rotations. The goal of the event was to connect students with these programs throughout their medical school education, exposing them to the specialties and disciplines, as well as planting the seed for them to complete their training in the region.
Most of the exhibitors were from the state of Alabama and surrounding region, and ACOM was excited to give first-, second- and third-year students the chance to meet with leaders from these programs to learn about future opportunities in the area.
