On Friday, July 12, 2019, Interim Dean James C. Jones, DO, FACEP, announced that Heath Parker, DO, will serve as the college’s Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences.
Dr. Parker earned his DO degree at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his training in a combined Internal Medicine–Pediatric residency at Texas A&M University, Scott & White, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Parker has more than ten years’ experience in medical education. Before coming to ACOM, he served at Lincoln Memorial University–Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) for four years as Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. He was the Founding Chair of Pediatrics at LMU-DCOM.
Dr. Parker joined ACOM in July 2013 as Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. He has served as Chair of Pediatrics and Chair of Internal Medicine. Dr. Parker played a key role during ACOM’s growth and development as a strong professional institution. He has served as pediatric clerkship chair, co-chair of the Clinical Competency Committee, and co-course director of the Gastrointestinal and Respiratory courses.
