The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) is pleased to announce that Lisa Ennis, MA, MS, Director of Library & Learning Resources and Professor of Library & Information Sciences, has been named to serve on the University of Tennessee’s College of Communication and Information’s School of Information Sciences’ Advisory Board. Distinguished information professionals who exemplify the library and information science professions from various backgrounds are invited to serve on the board by the school’s Director.
Ms. Ennis brought more than 20 years of academic experience when she joined ACOM five years ago. Prior to joining ACOM, Ms. Ennis served as the Systems Librarian and Associate Professor of Library & Information Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences. In addition to serving as library director, she also teaches informatics, evidence-based medicine, and public health in the Foundations of Modern Health Care courses. She has held numerous national and regional offices and published extensively on information sciences and technology, including co-authoring The Accidental Health Sciences Librarian published by InfoToday.
Ms. Ennis received her BA in history from Mercer University, MA in history from Georgia College & State University, MS in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee, and has nearly completed an MPH in environmental and occupational health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
