|The goal of the OIS Service Desk is to provide ACOM faculty, staff, and students with an effective primary point of contact for ACOM recommended software and computing resources. Graduation is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp on Saturday, June 2, 2018, and is expected to conclude by 12:00 noon. The Dothan Civic Center will open at 9:00 a.m. to begin seating families and guests. Students, faculty and guest hooders are expected to arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. for commencement line-up. All guest hooders are required to attend a rehearsal at the Dothan Civic Center at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
The Commencement Ceremony will take place at the Dothan Civic Center located at 126 North St. Andrews Street. There is ample parking throughout the downtown area within walking distance of the Dothan Civic Center.
The guest speaker for the commencement ceremony will be announced at a later date.
The commencement ceremony is NOT a ticketed event. The Dothan Civic Center has ample space for any number of desired guests. Please be courteous and do not save seats prior to the ceremony in order to allow all guests the opportunity for seating.
GradImages® will be the photography vendor for the commencement ceremony. Families and guests are invited to take their own pictures during the ceremony in a designated area that does not interfere with the professional photographers and audience viewing. Individual pictures will be taken of each students hooding and bestowal of diploma. GradImages® will provide a web link to all students with information about purchasing ceremony photographs no later 72 hours following commencement.
Silver Digital Media will be the videography vendor for the commencement ceremony. Families and guests are invited to take their own video during the ceremony at their seats or in designated areas that does not interfere with the professional videographers and audience viewing. Students and families can pre-order copies of the ceremony DVD prior to commencement or the day of the event. Details about orders and other information to follow.
ACOM graduating students may select a guest hooder or faculty hooder to hood them during the ceremony. All guest hooders must hold a terminal degree in their field (i.e. DO, MD, PhD, etc.). All guest hooders will be reviewed by ACOM administration to determine eligibility for hooding. Guest Hooders are required to attend the Hooder rehearsal at the Dothan Civic Center on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. All hooders must wear regalia.
ACOM will hold a Hooder Rehearsal on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. All guest hooders are required to attend this rehearsal in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. All hooders must bring their regalia to the rehearsal and ceremony. If you are a guest hooder and need to order regalia, please visit the following link: (Link Coming Soon!).
All guest hooders will have a designated seating area on the main floor of the Dothan Civic Center near the graduating class. More details will be provided at the Hooder Rehearsal.
ACOM has partnered with Oak Hall Cap & Gown to provide the finest regalia for commencement. ACOM negotiated the lowest rate possible for regalia rental. All guest hooders must rent or provide their own regalia in order to participate in the commencement ceremony. All regalia must be returned at the conclusion of commencement. The cost includes the rental of the gown, hood, tam and tassel. In order to avoid shipping costs, all regalia will be shipped directly to ACOM and made available for hooders to pick-up at the Hooder Rehearsal at the Dothan Civic Center on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. (the morning of graduation). Guest hooders can rent regalia through the webpage setup by Oak Hall Cap & Gown: link to follow.
Signature Announcements is the vendor for ACOM Graduation Gear, including announcements/invitations, diploma frames and class rings. Students will order all graduation gear directly through Signature Announcements. Link coming soon!
The Alumni Association will provide opportunities for you to stay engaged with the college after graduation and throughout your career. Students will learn more about the Alumni Association during the Exit Conference on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Click here for more information about ACOM’s Office of Alumni Affairs.
Dothan has a variety of hotel accommodations available for families and guests attending the graduation ceremony that are close to the event venue. Many hotels in the area honor an ACOM rate. Please see the list of hotels near the ACOM campus and Dothan Civic Center.

ACOM provides a select number of tickets to student family members and guests for events during the week. Commencement is not a ticketed event, and all families and guests are welcome to attend! Please check with your student for specific details about ticketed events.
ACOM is happy to accommodate special needs of families and guests during the ceremony. Graduation week activities for the Class of 2018 will begin Thursday, May 31, 2018. Students are expected to arrive in Dothan on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, in preparation for the mandatory exit conference on Thursday. ACOM invites all Class of 2018 students and up to guests two (2) guests per student to attend the Graduation Gala on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 6:00 p.m at the Dothan Civic Center. Join us for this celebration of student accomplishments! Dinner and music will be provided. A limited number of additional tickets will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis with a limit of two (2) additional tickets per student.

ACOM Campus, Team-Based Learning Center
ACOM will recognize and commission Class of 2018 military students in a special ceremony to be held on campus in the Team-Based Learning Center. This event is for military students only. Each military student may bring up to 10 guests. Lunch will be provided. The guest speaker for the event will be announced soon.

Students, families and guests are invited to attend a celebratory class reception on the ACOM campus on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Guests can tour the campus and stop by the Gift Shop to purchase ACOM merchandise.
ACOM will hold two graduation rehearsals at the Dothan Civic Center. Students are required to attend the rehearsal on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. Guest Hooders are required to attend the Hooder Rehearsal on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 7:30 a.m.
