American Medical Student Association (AMSA)

Through the Scholars Program and various health policy teams, AMSA members can learn about social barriers to medicine and how you can work to make a difference. With participation in the simulation challenge, you can hone your clinical skills and apply critical thinking outside the classroom. As the oldest and largest independent association of medical students in the country, AMSA has the power to transform student idealism into meaningful public service, innovation, and institutional change.

This committee contributes to the overall goal of the organization by working to ensure that the SIM competition is carried out efficiently.  This contributes to AMSA’s mission to train our members in improving healthcare and promoting active improvement in medical education.

This committee is designed to create more community service opportunities for AMSA members, which will serve to make them stronger healthcare leaders in the future.  The committee leader works directly with the Directly of Community Outreach to plan and execute all volunteer events.

This committee helps with AMSA exposure not just at ACOM but also in the community in hopes of increasing knowledge about the medical field and raising future healthcare leaders.  The committee leader also helps the treasurer create more opportunities to raise funds for the organization.

This committee helps assign mentors to AMSA members in order to prepare for rotations and residency.  This committee helps establish and continue lifelong relationships with upperclassmen.
