Outreach Initiatives

We are committed to inspiring future generations of physicians through a variety of community outreach programs, which are generously supported through the Southeast Health Foundation.

Science Fair

The District Science Fair is an important event that gives students the opportunity to showcase what they have learned in each level math and science courses.

Middle and high school students will be able to progress to the Regional and State Fairs. High school State Fair winners will move on to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Elementary school students will have the opportunity to learn the process of science fairs and gain experience in oral presentations, with the hope of inspiring them to participate in science fairs throughout middle and high school.

Science Camp

ACOM Science Camp is one part of the college’s Beyond the Classroom initiative. This outreach to the community helps to demonstrate the importance of science in healthcare and in the development of new technologies. Through the generous support of the Southeast Health Foundation, ACOM is able to facilitate these programs free-of-charge to participants.

ACOM Science Camp activities are designed to engage youth in the exploration of a variety of scientific principles, with the goal of increasing interest in future science and health education and careers.

Student Impact

ACOM is home to numerous student interest groups across all specialties. Community service projects include the Samaritan Clinic, Dothan Rescue Mission, House of Ruth, city clean-up days, drug take back events and more.

If you are looking for a school with a high impact level on it’s community and beyond, ACOM is the place for you.
