Biography

James Lyons, MD, serves as Associate Dean of Medical Education. Dr. Lyons obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and his MD degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is board certified in family medicine, anatomic and clinical pathology, and dermatopathology. Dr. Lyons received the Lloyt Vandenberg award for the top officer academically in his commissioned officer class while on active duty with the US Air Force. During his pathology residency, he received the Frances K. Patterson resident award. Prior to joining ACOM, he served as a medical director of a hospital laboratory and as a clinical assistant professor at a Chicago school of medicine.
