Starla Meighan, PhD, serves as Assistant Professor of Anatomy. Dr. Meighan obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Auburn University. She earned her PhD in neuroscience from Washington State University. Prior to joining ACOM, Dr. Meighan served as clinical assistant professor at Washington State University and lecturer at Gonzaga University. Her research interests include the impact of a non-physiological increase in matrix metalloproteinase expression on ion channels of the neurovascular unit, as well as the physiological stress response and decision-making when faced with reminders of mortality.
