Admissions Overview

At ACOM, we’re thrilled to welcome driven and passionate applicants from all backgrounds—especially those from Alabama and the surrounding region. We use a rolling admissions process, which means we review applications and make interview decisions throughout the admissions cycle. To maximize your chances, we recommend applying as early as possible. Once you’ve reviewed the admissions requirements, you’re ready to take the next step and begin your application!

Citizenship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. This status must be maintained throughout enrollment.

Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)

  • Submission of recent MCAT scores is required.
  • Preferred: Scores from within four years of the application cycle start date.
  • Note: Older scores may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Prerequisite Coursework

Applicants must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A baccalaureate degree from a college or university accredited by an agency formally recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Special Consideration: Students with 75% of their degree completed may be considered under special circumstances with approval from the Dean.
