Dr. Jacobs Named Chair of Specialty Medicine
DOTHAN, Ala. – The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) is proud to announce Gregory T. Jacobs, DO, FACEP, FAAEM, was recently named department chair of specialty medicine in Clinical Sciences. He will also continue as assistant professor of Emergency Medicine and medical director of Clinical Simulation.
Dr. Jacobs is board certified in emergency medicine with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He came to ACOM more than five years ago from the Southeast Health Medical Center where he served as an emergency department physician.
Dr. Jacobs earned his medical degree from the North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed two years of internal medicine residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis. Dr. Jacobs then completed an emergency medicine residency and a fellowship in Global Health/International Emergency Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
